I found out in my 50’s that the name on my original birth certificate was spelled incorrectly. Someone must have corrected it at some point and not used the original spelling. It wasn’t until my passport expired and I could not find the original birth certificate that I had and had to request a new one that I found out the spelling was different. I actually had to do a name change to fix the issue because all my document had the normal spelling of Michael . Now I get to have an original website address and a mildly entertaining story to tell .
